Haynes Memory Game – a classic game to build yourself!
If you remember ‘Simon’, you will know this game. The light flashes – you have to respond to it by pressing the corresponding coloured button. Each time you get it right, an extra light is added to the sequence, building up a pattern of lights to remember and recall.
However, this version comes with a difference – you have to build it before you can play it! The kit is supplied with light bulbs, connecting wires and a framework to build it in. There is no soldering required, you just have to follow the simple Haynes Manual to slot them together in the correct order. You then have an electronic game that you have built from scratch! Just add batteries.
We love the idea of building a game that you can play in such a sophisticated way. A classic game with a new twist.
Please note – the instructions on this game state that it is suitable for 14 as it is not a toy. However, with some simple supervision, we think that this is suitable for children 10 to make.
- They have to build the game from scratch
- They can alter the controls
- They can really understand how it works
